SA31 on May 29, 2005

The SA31 had been brought down to Collingswood Auction the previous Friday and was tied down there.  The crew has now arrived and is working on starting both engines as some spectators watch from above on the bridge.  Leading the SA31 that warm, sunny May day was GP15-1 1425, still in its Conrail Quality paint.
The train is now crossing Asbury Avenue enroute to Farmingdale.
The SA31 at Southard Avenue as they will drill Gold Lumber.
After dropping off two cars for Gold Lumber, NS GP38-2 5282 is in charge as the train will return to Farmingdale to retrieve the rest of their cars.
A second photo of the two engines, this one including the buffer at Gold Lumber.

The train has just passed the Route 524 grade crossing and will reach their cars shortly.
After recoupling the entire train, the SA31 crosses over Route 524/547 with a spectator watching.
A Canadian Pacific boxcar was included in the consist.
A photo of the SA31 as the pass the lead for Gold Lumber as they make there way to Lakewood.
The train crawling through Lakewood.  Between the tree, clouds, sky and Conrail engine, I couldn't pass on this photo opportunity.
A close-up shot of GP15-1 1425.  The GP15-1s don't appear too often on the Southern Secondary.
The SA31 crossing 2nd Street in Lakewood and a photo of GP38-2 5282.
An old British Columbia Railway boxcar.
Murphy's Law in action.  Some heavy cloud cover as the SA31 drills the runaround at DiNaso & Sons.
In this photo from left to right:  The main track, the runaround and DiNaso's siding (partially hidden behind the GP15-1).
After placing a gondola, the engines leave the runaround to get back to the rest of their cars.
The SA31 crossing Whitesville Road.  The final photo of an enjoyable afternoon with the SA31.
